Church Pew Dining Bench

Church Pew Dining Bench

We finally found a NEW bench that looks like a church pew for our entryway! And it just happens to go with the rest of our new furniture!

I have forever loved the look of church pews in modern farmhouse and modern country design and decor. The problem is that they tend to be hard to find in our neck of the woods. And they're usually either far too big (hello, a church pew!) or way too expensive. But we finally found a new bench that looks like a church pew. We finally found a NEW bench that looks like a church pew for our entryway! And it just happens to go with the rest of our new furniture!

Entryway Before

So, technically speaking, there was nothing wrong with our old entryway look. We had a console table in there that Dean built with some very lovely decor on it. The thing is, like the reason for most of our recent room makeovers (like the master bedroom and the dining room), the space as it was didn'tfunction that well for us.white entry, black double doors, spring pastel decor on long farmhouse table

We never used any of the things on the table, they were literally just there to look pretty. And we ended up sitting either on the step at the entryway, a dining room chair or the step over by the powder room and stairs to put our shoes on. How silly is that?!

Entryway Makeover After

To make the entryway more usable yet still beautiful, we decided to look for a bench for the space instead of the console table. (Not to worry, the console table is now happily living in the dining room.)

I knew exactly what kind of bench I wanted for the entry. I've always loved the look of church pews, especially in entryways. The problem is that they tend to be hard to find in our neck of the woods. And they're usually either far too big (hello, a church pew meant to hold lots of people!) or way too expensive.

While we were sourcing the furniture for our dining room makeover, imagine my joy when we happened to stumble upon the Keswick Dining Bench in Dovetail Grey from The Brick!

Keswick Dining Bench in Dovetail Grey from The Brick

The Keswick Bench is exactly the same color as our Keswick Buffet and Hutches, which is perfect because the entryway is right next to the dining room and is very open.

The Keswick Bench is easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth, which is perfect for a high traffic entryway or mudroom like ours. It's also made from solid pine, and surprisingly comfortable!

Plus, if we need extra dining room seating, like we did at Easter, we can just pull the bench into the dining room from the Entry! (Most of the kids are sitting on the Keswick Bench.)

Since the Keswick Bench is long, we needed to change what was on the wall too. We chose two similar but different pieces of art. The Brick gets in new pieces of art all the time, so if you're looking visit the website or the store closest to you to see what they have.

Remember to have your space measurements handy when you go shopping for art so you get the right size piece(s)!

We are loving the functionality and the look of our newly made over entryway!

Do you love the look of church pews as much as I do? What do you think of our entryway makeover?

Shannon
